Privacy Policy

Your data stays on your device. PulseCoach reads health data from your Apple Watch to provide coaching insights. We never collect, store, or sell your personal or health data. All processing happens on your iPhone.

1. Who we are

PulseCoach is operated by Reynolds Labs Ltd ("we", "us", "our").

2. What data we collect

PulseCoach is a health and fitness application. We only collect data that is necessary to provide the core functionality of the app.

a) Health and activity data (with your permission)

If you choose to connect Apple Health, PulseCoach may access health and activity data such as:

  • Heart rate
  • Heart rate variability (HRV)
  • Resting heart rate
  • Running and activity metrics
  • Training load and recovery indicators

PulseCoach does not access Apple Health data unless you explicitly grant permission. You can revoke access at any time via your Apple Health settings.

b) User-provided data

You may optionally provide information such as:

  • Training goals
  • Subjective readiness or wellness check-ins
  • Notes related to training or recovery

c) Technical and usage data

We may collect limited technical information, including:

  • Device type
  • Operating system version
  • App version
  • Anonymous usage analytics

This data is used solely to improve app performance, reliability, and user experience.

3. How we use your data

Your data is used only to:

  • Generate personalised training and recovery insights
  • Provide readiness and training guidance
  • Improve the accuracy and quality of PulseCoach features
  • Maintain, operate, and improve the app

We do not sell personal data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. AI-generated insights

PulseCoach uses AI models to analyse trends in your training and health data and generate insights. These models are operated by OpenAI. When you use an AI feature, a limited summary of your health context — such as recent heart rate variability, resting heart rate, sleep duration and training load — is sent to OpenAI to generate that response. We do not send your name, email address or Apple ID.

OpenAI processes this data on our behalf to return the response. Under OpenAI’s API terms, data sent through the API is not used to train their models.

AI-generated insights are informational only and are not medical advice. No automated decisions are made that produce legal, medical, or similarly significant effects.

5. Where your data is stored

Health and activity data is read from Apple Health on your device, and most processing — including your daily readiness decision — happens on the device itself.

Some health data is also stored on our servers so that it is available across your devices and over time. This includes your daily readiness check-ins, the vitals behind them such as heart rate variability, resting heart rate and sleep duration, and your completed workouts. This data is held by Supabase, our database and authentication provider, on servers in London, United Kingdom.

We also store a minimal account profile when you sign in with Apple — an anonymised identifier, and your display name if you provided one.

We use the following providers, and no others, to deliver the app:

  • Supabase — database, authentication and account sync
  • OpenAI — AI coaching and insight generation
  • Apple — sign-in, subscription management, and health data access on your device
  • TelemetryDeck — privacy-focused product analytics. Receives event names such as “check-in completed”, and the resulting label (Train, Adapt or Recover), against an anonymous identifier. It does not receive your measurements, your name or your email address.

We use industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption and access controls. No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

6. Data retention and deletion

You may disconnect Apple Health at any time.

You may request deletion of your PulseCoach account and associated data by contacting pulsecoachapp@gmail.com.

When an account is deleted, associated personal data is permanently removed unless retention is required by law.

7. Your rights

Under applicable data protection laws, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion
  • Withdraw consent at any time

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, users will be notified within the app.
